Objective Modes

An Objective Mode defines what players are competing on in a Contest. The mode determines both how the score works and how winners are decided — which is why it also determines whether a Contest is a Battle or a Bounty.

The six live modes

🎯 Points modes (Battle Contests)

Achievement Points

Whoever earns the most achievement points during the Battle window wins.

  • Contest type: Battle

  • Best for: Long-running grind competitions; favorite-game weeks; tournament events.

  • Platforms: Steam, PSN, Xbox.

  • How it scores: Achievements unlocked during the Battle window contribute their rarity-weighted points (or gamerscore on Xbox).

  • Historical achievements do NOT count — only what you unlock during the Battle.

Completion Achievement Points

Whoever earns the most achievement points from games they 100%-complete during the Battle window wins.

  • Contest type: Battle

  • Best for: Backlog clearing events where finishing a game matters more than scattered achievements.

  • Platforms: Steam, PSN, Xbox.

  • How it scores: Only achievements from games you fully complete during the window contribute. A game you partially complete contributes nothing.

  • Distinction from Achievement Points: Achievement Points counts every achievement during the window. Completion Achievement Points only counts achievements from games you finish.

Dota 2 Points Battle

Whoever performs best in Dota 2 during the Battle window wins.

  • Contest type: Battle

  • Best for: Dota 2 communities running competitive seasons or weekly events.

  • Platforms: Steam (Dota 2 specifically).

  • How it scores: Based on MMR change, match wins, and performance metrics during the window. Specifics depend on Contest configuration.

  • Requirement: Your Steam profile and Dota 2 match history must both be public. See the Dota 2 setup steps in Connecting Steam.

🏃 Hunter modes (Bounty Contests)

Achievement Hunter

Players race to unlock a specific achievement in a chosen game.

  • Contest type: Bounty

  • Best for: "First to unlock the secret ending of Game X" challenges; group plays where everyone aims for the same milestone.

  • Platforms: Steam, PSN, Xbox.

  • What you do: Just play the game and unlock the achievement during the Bounty window.

Platinum Hunter

Players race to earn the platinum trophy in a chosen PlayStation game.

  • Contest type: Bounty

  • Best for: PSN platinum hunters; long-running platinum events with prize splits.

  • Platforms: PSN only.

  • What you do: Earn every other trophy in the game — the platinum auto-unlocks. Make sure your PSN trophies are visible to Anyone.

Completion Hunter

Players race to 100%-complete a chosen game.

  • Contest type: Bounty

  • Best for: Completionist sprints; events celebrating game launches.

  • Platforms: Steam, PSN, Xbox.

  • What you do: Unlock every achievement / earn every trophy. Completion of all DLC may or may not be required depending on how the host configured the Bounty.
